Knowing he would be beaten beyond human endurance, he CHOOSE to make the journey to become fully man and remain fully God, so that he could offer his life in exchange for our salvation. June 3, 2016.
A long awaited Graduation Day.
WE worked hard toward the goal, pressing on, even when it felt so impossible to face.
Amazed at the numbers of supportive family and friends
Bewildered at the chaos of preparation and presentation
Confused over the details
Delighted with the results
Enjoyed the company
Friends and family alike
God granted great weather
However, the rain.....

November, a time Americans celebrate a day of thankfulness, followed by a day of mayhem!! Enjoyed them both. My older son drove 800 miles, with his children in tow, to visit for a few days. (DIL stayed home and worked many hours in her new job, as an RN. I am so proud of her for that newly acquired title....but that is an other story.)

Some time back a fellow blogger sent me a list of questions to answer and share on my blog. I believe it was a way of introducing new blogs and new bloggers, if you will, to some new ideas! I declined the invitation, but answered the questions just the same. Today, I read and modified my answers. They are largely unchanged, however some dates and occupation info added.

I have long admired the artwork of this Patter Cross. She presents the glory of Christ in her delightful work, in paper or fiber, or design. Following thru others, I have witnessed the challenges she sets forth as scripture, hymns and for 2015, Glory Art. My sweet husband allowed me to design a large crafty space when we built our custom home ten plus years ago. It is journey I am familiar with. Tending loved ones in times they are not able to fully tend to their own needs. For a few weeks now, I have had the privilege to cook and clean for my "Uncle/Cousin" and sit quietly and listen. Knowing full well the Lord has orchestrated the scene. Life, is like a road. We walk along toward our own reaching toward our goals, and accomplish our purposes. Saul traveled toward Damascus, with a specific purpose, to destruction. But the plans of the Lord are not known to us. God interceded along that road and Saul was blinded. For three days he could not see, he did not eat or drink anything. I should not wonder that the Lord continues to restore my soul, my attitude and heal my hurts. I am, after all, the one that has fallen short in my walk with the Lord. Again. My mind and heart are hurting on a compounded level that is not even important.
This week, I will quietly walk through the day that marks the third year since my dear sister, Brenda moved to be with Jesus. Several years ago, spending time with Dad, he purchased some pre-made bird houses, collected a few bottles of acrylic paints and some brushes. We talked about the different styles of painting, tole painting being the style he wanted to learn.
Dad believed he could be an artist.
Recently, I discovered a watercolor tablet in his things. There were a few pages that he had colored/painted on. Everyday humans use words. Or perhaps misuse words. I, for one find the use of love, much over and not appropriately used. Awesome is another misused words.
Love is used to describe how we feel about another human being, or a piece of chocolate, or a type of entertainment.
Awesome is an adjective used to describe an incomprehensible feeling or item. I am having a moment without tears this morning.
As a Hospice nurse, death is a frequent presence in my life. God has gifted me with the desire to minister to the families of loved ones facing a human ending chapter to this book called life. I have been with our local hospice on and off since the pre-patient days in the early 1990's. Perhaps that makes me a veteran of sorts. Twenty seven months ago, we were having an extended sleep over at Brenda's. Some family was there all the time. In the tiny video clip is Dad, as we passed the time. Today is the final official day of winter, here in central Ohio. It is cold and rainy. Pray that your day from inside is warm and sunny. I am closing down my day here. The past month has been lived in a moderate state of disbelief and sorrow.

I have, selfishly, a burdened heart. We each face and deal in our own way with grief. I have experienced it often in the profession the Lord has placed me. This week has been a time of loss for me. A few years ago, I began a journey thru the book of Proverbs. Each morning I turn to the chapter represented by the calendar date. Today is January 31, so today's chapter is Proverbs 31. This is a tough one for me to read thru. I am reminded that I fall short.....over and over again. But the verse stated in my title comes to mind often. Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails Proverbs 19:21.

Next week is the American tradition of Thanksgiving. It is a very celebrated holiday here in the heart of Ohio. Marked by "Black Friday" sales......which are already in progress?? If not they do begin on Thursday sometime! In my humble opinion, our society has become less involved in being a family and more involved is competing with one another.
