Grow Your Blog. A week or so back, I read those words on a delightful blog I ran across. While on the newly discovered blog, I fell in love with some beautiful nests. You know the ones I mean, if you have ever visited Vicki's blog. Well, that is fun story for another time. . . . . . .
A little about me, I strive/struggle everyday to follow in Christ model for our lives. He is my Master and my life flows wonderfully along, when I remember. Forgiven, and far from perfect, I am grateful for His leading in my life.
I opened my blog sometime back. Being involved in paper challenges over at ODBD, I wanted to share challenge postings. Besides, I aspired to be a writer in the way my grandmother and mom were. They could pick up a pen and paper and put words together that moved the heart of the reader.(Perhaps someday I could share excerpts of the beauty). A Blog should be a great, modern, place to try my skills as a would be writer.
I think of myself as a SAHM ( with a paid job on the side.)Daytime spent learning a step or two ahead of my freshman son, to guide him in his studies. Evenings and an occasional weekend on call.
Since childhood, I have loved the creative outlet of various crafty projects. Some have come and gone, some come back. The love of paper remains a longtime companion. I love making cards, scrapbook pages, altered objects. I am looking forward to settling in once again to that passion.
One year ago, nearly to the day, my dear sister went to be with our Savior after a 15 month battle with cancer. It has taken me that long to rekindle the desire to create. I am thankful for the time to reflect. I miss her deeply some days. There are none left untouched by sorrow in this world, so I know you are able to understand the mourning.
With the dawning of a new day, I am grateful to the Lord for bringing me to this time of my life. So pleased He brought you to my blog today, to share Jesus and maybe be inspired in some small way.
Thanks for dropping by.

ReplyDeleteHello dear Robyn, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving me such a sweet comment. I can totally relate to your blog post here. It's a great blessing to have Jesus in your life and to try to follow Him. And I too had no desire for crafting for some time when we had a lot of heart ache going on in our family. But I do hope you'll be able to get back to it, for it gives so much joy and beauty in your life. Am looking forward to be seeing your future work!
ReplyDeleteHugs and wonderful weekend to you,
Wendy of AppleApricot.blogspot.com
Robyn, you have such a beautiful heart. I too, lost my sister. It was 10 years ago in an auto accident. I can understand your pain. Even now, I think of her - not just every day - but nearly every hour. For both of us..."someday" in a place with "no sorrow or tears" we will meet our sisters again!
ReplyDeleteRobyn-- you are beautiful- both inside and out. You write from your heart and your words move me-- I'm so sorry that you lost someone so dear to you. I know that in your job-- you bring great comfort to those who need it most.
ReplyDeleteI hope you make lots of friends--
So happy to meet you--
Vicki

Hi, Robyn!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog.
I am sorry that you lost your sister. I lost my mother to cancer when I was just a little girl. It has been my faith in Jesus that has carried me through my life. I agree with you, when I remember to stay focused on Jesus all goes much more smoothly. It is so comforting to know that He is always by my side no matter what.
I am glad to have connected with you through this wonderful blogging community.
With love,
Terry
I love reading the why of your wanting to write. I never have considered myself a writer so it is a challenge to my creativity. I too love paper. I used to sew professionally, but my eyes don't allow me to sew as much so I turned to paper - cards, books, tags.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing what you create.
Robyn - Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for the nice comment. I look forward to reading your blog in the future.

Thankyou for your visit. Our talents are a gift from God of course and I think time in creativity is time spent with Him. Blessings. Betty (the wood fairy)
ReplyDeleteHi Robyn,
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog.
It is so nice to meet you :)
I loved your post. It is very heart felt and inspiring.
My grandmother lived across the United States from me, I would stay with her during the summers.
We were so close. When we were apart the remainder of the months she would write me the most lovely letters..
It's amazing the positive impact one can have in your life.
I look forward to visiting again.
Hugs to you,
~Diane
