And her children will arise and call her blessed; and her husband also....Proverbs 31:28:

A few years ago, I began a journey thru the book of Proverbs. Each morning I turn to the chapter represented by the calendar date. Today is January 31, so today's chapter is Proverbs 31. This is a tough one for me to read thru. I am reminded that I fall short.....over and over again. But the verse stated in my title comes to mind often. It reminds me to keep Christ above all else and refocus on that life style. The forth chapter of Philippians  is one of my go to for reminders to strengthen me in all circumstance.

Being content in all things and knowing that I can do all things in Christ, because he gives me strength, allows me/ encourages me to continue the path so the children and husband can call me blessed.  Yes, that sounds a bit self centered. In the path of our human existence, we laugh when we here,"If Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy" In this line, the more important fact remains, if Momma ain't leading the life of Christ, how can her family be happy?  So I turn to the Word of God to find strength, wisdom and comfort. Thank you, Jesus for stepping up to shoulder my sinful nature and transgressions, in order for me to experience your eternal love.

This little family of mine is on a journey of a lifetime. (aren't we all?) If you read the previous post,  you will know we have been without a car. Rental went back and the week went by, no success in locating something to trust on the road. Without going on about each and every signature of God during this portion of our journey, I want to confirm that God is in the little things. We now have a nice vehicle to drive and arrive safely.

Country living is wonderful. But without wheels, it make access a little more difficult. Well, inconvenient at least.  As a Hospice nurse, my role is to do "on call" meaning after the office closes and before it opens, be available for patient/family needs. Reliable transportation is pretty important.

In life, our journey toward Christ is not unlike the experience of my personal past few weeks. The means to arrive is within our grasps, but there are indeed bumps and interference along the way. Satin wants none to be fighting for the cause of Christ, so he blocks our direct path and tries to detour us.

Arriving at the destination is not always without bumps in the road. But for me, success of this life is measured in the blessings of Christ. Always stretching and reaching toward the goal of leading my dear loved ones by example, that the words in scripture may be one day reflected in their memories.

Press on...

  1. Robyn, I loved what you've shared today and find great encouragement! Yes, God allows many trials in our lives, and they are designed to make us more like Christ...so we must press on! And your theme passage is a great one! I have a piece of jewelry my husband bought me for our 15th wedding anniversary that was made by a Messianic believer with a Hebrew symbol in gold and silver. On the back it has Proverbs 31:10...another great one in that chapter! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Hugs, Cheryl
